ABOUT US

THE HISTORY OF GARA ITALIA

Gara Italia is a craft/artisan company that has been in the business of customizing carbon fiber bike frames of the highest standard since 2009.

Gara Italia was created by Alberto Garagiola, an aerospace engineer, boxing, cycling art and math enthusiast, who, following an injury back in 1998, had to get back in shape with physical therapy and cycling. This experience led him to strengthen his love for the sport, leading him to actively participate in both road and mountain bike amateur races, and to mature his own thinking about the marriage of mechanics and aesthetics, a combination that is often overlooked and disregarded.

Gara Italia’s current production includes Road Bikes, Mountain Bikes, Gravel Bikes and Time Trial – Triathlon Bikes.

UNIQUE, HIGH-END BIKES

The idea of Gara Italia was that among a hundred bikes in the group, ours would stand out for a totally different aesthetic from the commercial market; we wanted to give a new face to cycling, which is often relegated to the role of performance and technicality alone.

Our mission is to produce bikes of high technical level and undoubted artistic value. Each piece made represents a wish on the part of each of our customers; we do not simply sell bikes, but dreams.

Attention to detail is our main prerogative, because the first ones who have to be satisfied with the end result are ourselves; if we like it, the client likes it too.

We are one of the few, if not the only, companies in the world that offers its clients a graphic studio without a “frame,” a drawing on blank paper. This means that it will be you, together with our artists and graphic designers, who will create your unique, never replicable bike.

To date (2024), we have made about two thousand bikes, each with completely different graphics and coloring. We love our work and have taken it to a level we call ART. If you can dream it, you can do it.

In addition to creating unique items for our clients, we produce “jewelry” for our art gallery. In this case we are talking about “Obsession”, the world’s first diamond-set bike, an object of admiration and fine art, recognized worldwide and in demand by many museums or modern art galleries. Or of “Artech”, with its abstract, brush-made graphics, and the world’s first bike with 3D-printed logos, not forgetting the limited series dedicated to artist Jean-Michel Basquiat and many others, which you can discover in the Special Paintings section.

To get noticed, you have to be different!
